- APIs
  Application programming interfaces (APIs) provide functions that simplify applications development.
- Job configuration overlays
  You can specify or change configuration parameters when you use the submitjob or updateoperators operations. The settings control submission constraints, host constraints and locations, and operator status. Parameters are captured and updated in the configuration JSON file. When you change the values in the job configuration overlay file, the changes override any previously set values.

Lookup repository initialization fails

If the lookup repository does not initialize, check the global.applicationControlDirectory parameter in the config/config.cfg file, and then start the jobs again with the correct parameter values.

Symptoms

The initial command file of Lookup Manager is in the input directory, but the initialization fails. The state files of the ITE applications are not present or do not change their status in the control directory.

Causes

The path to the control directory is not set correctly for Lookup Manager and ITE jobs. They must not differ from each other. Every job must use the same folder.

Resolving the problem

Check the global.applicationControlDirectory parameter in the config/config.cfg file of each ITE application and Lookup Manager application.
Check the Streams Console for the correct setting of the global.applicationControlDirectory submission parameter.
Recompile the jobs with the updated configuration, or cancel and resubmit the jobs using the correct parameter values.
