The Teracloud® Streams messages describe the errors and solutions, warnings of potentially problematic conditions, and helpful information that you can use to troubleshoot the problems that can occur when you work with the product. These messages are displayed in the user interfaces and log files.

Troubleshooting is a systematic approach to solving a problem. The goal of troubleshooting is to determine why something does not work as you expect it to work, and then decide how to resolve the problem.
Use the solutions that are provided to resolve known problems that you might encounter when you work with different components of the product.
Teracloud® Streams provides log and trace services and troubleshooting tools that can help you resolve the issues that you encounter when you work with the product.
Each log message has a unique message ID. The naming convention for each Teracloud® Streams message ID is CDISXNNNNT.

The DNS lookup by IP address failed. The hostname host name resolves to the following IP address: IP_address.
The DNS lookup by IP address resolves to the wrong host name. The hostname host name resolves to IP_address IP address, but the DNS lookup by IP address resolves to the following host name: incorrect_hostname.
The round trip DNS lookup does not resolve correctly. The hostname host name resolves to the IP_address IP address using DNS. The DNS lookup of the IP address resolves to the incorrect_hostname host name; but the DNS lookup of the host name resolves to the following IP address: incorrect_IP_address.
The IP address does not resolve to the correct host name. The hostname host name resolved to the IP_address IP address, but that IP address resolves to the following host name incorrect_hostname.
The full name resolution of the host name does not resolve the to the correct IP address. The hostname host name resolved to the IP_address IP address using DNS, but the full name resolution for that host name resolves to the following IP addresses: list_of_IP_addresses.
The IP address does not resolve to the correct host name. The hostname host name resolved to the IP_address IP address, but the DNS lookup resolves to the following host name: DNS_hostname.
The hostname host name resolved to the IP_address IP address, but the DNS lookup failed.
An unexpected exception was detected while performing name resolution checking. The exception error message is: error_message
You may be running a firewall which may prevent communication between the cluster hosts.
During the product installation, embedded ZooKeeper was upgraded in the following directory: installation_directory. This directory is located in a shared file system, and the installation program cannot detect if embedded ZooKeeper is in use.
The hostname host name did not resolve to an IP address using DNS lookup.
The installed version installed_version of the software dependency exceeds the maximum_version maximum version that is supported by the product.
IBM Java java_version is not installed.
The hostname host name was resolved to an IPV6 address, which is not supported by the product.
The system name resolver does not recognize the hostname host name.

The argument is not valid because verbose_parameter must be followed by valid level of the verbose parameter.
The install_package_architecture architecture of the installation image does not match the target_operating_system_architecture architecture of your system.

Your target_system operating system is not supported by this installation image. This image supports the build_target operating system.
You cannot install the prior version of product_name product_version over existing_product_name existing_product_version in the existing_installation_directory directory.

The owner of the file must be specified.
The path to the installation directory must be an absolute path. A relative path is specified.
You cannot install Streams version previous_version, which is a prior version, over the later version newer_version.
The installation was cancelled because software dependencies are missing. The response file specifies that the installation be cancelled.
The silent installation stopped because you are not the root user or the LICENSE_ACCEPTED property in the response file is set to "false."
An error occurred when the command command was run.
An error occurred when the installation software was extracted.
The product cannot be upgraded. The user must be the installation owner or the root user.
The owner_group owner group does not exist. Before the product can be installed, the specified owner group must exist.
The installation_directory directory is not a valid installation directory.
An IO error occurred when the product version was validated. The error is: error_detected
The installation was cancelled because version version of the product is already installed in the install_directory directory. The response file specifies that the installation be cancelled when a later version is already installed in the installation directory.
You do not have the required permissions for the install_directory installation directory.
The owner group of the installation files must be specified.
The owner installation owner does not exist. An existing user must be specified.
An error occurred when the system configuration was checked. The error is: error
You are not the root user or the owner of the installed files.
The root user cannot be the owner of the deployed files.
An error occurred. The function that was in progress might not have completed. The error is: error.
You are installing product_name product_version over existing_product_name existing_product_version.
The alpha or beta edition for this product version is already installed. You cannot install the product in the same directory as the alpha or beta edition.
The active java version of java_version is lower than the version required by the product. The product requires version req_java_version or later.
The active java is not an SDK: java_path.
You must be the root user to run this script.
The software_dependency_name software dependency is not installed.
The product upgrade cannot continue because the following version is being used: product_version.
The owner user does not have read, write, and execute permissions to the root_directory directory.
The installation program cannot find the following response file: reponse_file_name.
The product installation failed with return code return_code. Analyze the messages in the installation summary log in the following directory: installation_summary_log_directory.

The response_property property was not found in the following response file: response_file. This property is required.
An exception occurred during the creation of the working directories. The error code is error_code. Messages in the installation summary log can provide more detailed information.
There are other versions installed in the following installation root directory: installation_root_directory. The owner and group must be the same for all versions that are installed in this root directory.
The following installation owner that is specified on the FILE_OWNER_USER_ID response file property does not exist: installation_owner.
The following installation owner group that is specified on the FILE_OWNER_GROUP response file property does not exist: installation_owner_group.
An exception occurred during the product uninstallation. The error is: error_message
The version_to_uninstall version that you are uninstalling is in use by the following processes on this system: process_ids.
The version_to_uninstall version that you are uninstalling is in use by the system_service_name system service for the domain_name domain and the zk_connection_string ZooKeeper. Remove the system service by using the streamtool unregisterdomainhost command.
You cannot uninstall the product. The product must be uninstalled by the owner of the installed files or the root user.
The following option requires a value: parameter.
The IS_EDITION_TYPE property is missing.

Embedded ZooKeeper is in use and cannot be upgraded in the following directory: global_installation_directory. The following versions of the product are using embedded ZooKeeper: list_versions_in_use.
